The Rhythm Boys

The Rhythm Boys  -- Bing Crosby, Harry Barris and Al Rinker -- sang with Paul Whitman from 1927 to 1931.  Their work, coupled with the playing of Bix Beiderbecke (cornet) and Frankie Trambauer (C-Melody Sax) and the great arrangements of Ferde Grofe, made the Whiteman band THE number one band of the era.

They appeared in King Of Jazz, and a couple of their numbers are on YouTube.  This song helped me to realize that the blackbird is a sign of bad luck, and the bluebird, of good luck.

They were masters of scat-singing, as this youtube clip shows.

Still Under construction
