THE COLORADO NIGHTHAWKS

There have been a lot of bands (and sports teams) called "Nighthawks, and this is another one.  But we are the first Colorado Nighthawks, trying to capture the feel of Coon-Sanders, McKinney's Cotton Pickers and other bands of the Roaring 20's.   

Our plan...

1. Build a great book** of tunes from the 20's and 30's, that musicians love to play, and older people love to hear.  (Actually some young people love them too!)

2. Hand out CD's which demonstrate the music and the sound you want.  (These are for study purposes, of course.)  Click here for an analysis of the music.

3. Find a good place to play.  Lately, we've been playing at the Townhouse Lounge.

4. Put a group of GREAT musicians together on a Sunday Afternoon and let them play!  Here are some pictures of our Sunday Afternoons.

5. Start recording and selling CDs, teeshirts (with the "Nighthawks" on them), etc. 

6. Start traveling, playing Festivals in Colorado and all over the world.
