Welcome to the Web Home of the Colorado Nighthawks!!

We are the Colorado Nighthawks Trad Jazz Band.  We took our name from the original Coon-Sanders Nighthawks which played Red Hot Jazz from 1924 to 1932.

We love early Trad Jazz (1920's and early 30's) and we'll recommend some exciting websites and CD's that will demonstrate the difference between Trad Jazz, Dixieland, and Swing. 

We love "scat singing" and I've collected some great Vocals. 

About  Us!   We have a special concept of  Trad Jazz, and we'll present it here.  Here are pictures of the members of the band as they play!

We sound like... I have been influenced by many bands, and I discuss the ones that influence my arrangements here.

"Nighthawks" is also a famous painting and we'll inform you about that here.

Good Time Music is the name of our little enterprise, and also the name of one of our groups.  We'll show you all of our various other musical endeavors here.

Band-in-a-Box is a magical musical program.  We use it to print our book  

Rick's Banjo.  I have a special tuning on my Plectrum Banjo, and I play differently from most contemporary banjo players.  I discuss that here.
